I think what surprises me most about this pic is that the Sea King doesn't look more, well, kingly...Does that make any sense? I'm sure (after watching too many Disney movies, and Clash of the Titans one too many times) that the mental image that most of us have of a King of the Seas is this towering, over-muscled, bearded thing rising up out of the foam. The Sea King you've drawn is fairly unpretentious I think that works pretty well, and it's certainly a new twist on some old stories. Well done

I always draw my hands in the postition I want if I'm having trouble 2) She looks excited or surprised at what he's offering, but she looks like she's looking over him, instead of looking at him or the gift. I look foward to the colored version.

Despite reading the excellent folklore styled story I still see a native offering a pelt to a woman. He also appears to looking somewhere not particularly PC and she is looking over his right shoulder. But I do really like it, where they are looking just intrigues me. :^)
| 12 Mar 2002 | Veronika Kronnäs | Loading...The story is interesting! Most sea kings in stories just grab the woman and take her home with them, making her forget that she didn't want him. But he waits. I like that, less predictabilities to the world! I like how he doesn't look like the typical sea king, too, that's an extra plus, not something bad! | |

| 22 Dec 2002 | Raye of the Day | Loading...You know, he is a magical sea king dude! If he shows himself in all his splendor she might think he was overly-egotistical and judge him before he even gets out of the water! One thing. Where is mister sea man getting the furs? Sea lions? It looks like a leopard pelt from here. | |
| 17 Nov 2003 | | Loading...Disney doesn't own the copywrite to the way a sea king should look! And besides, if he was all imposing and stuff he'd scare her off. And even then if she came with him, it might only be because she feels obligated to go with him, because he is a *king*, after all. He wants her to fall in love with him, not just be some random concubine. | |
